YOUTH MINISTRIES
We engage students in Christian community, outreach and mission in order to form lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Our weekly gatherings of play, worship and learning focus on building Christian community and individual faith, while major events focus on leadership development, outreach and mission.
Both middle school and high school ministries include students whose parents call PCLG their church home and students whose families do not attend worship at PCLG. We welcome all!

Sunday Morning
Students are invited to worship alongside other students in the balcony.
Middle School students meet for Sunday School on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month in our Youth Center building or in our outdoor Redwood Grove. Students exit for Sunday school about 20 minutes into the service following a brief children’s message. High School students remain in worship to participate in the life of the congregation.
Middle School Youth Group
(Known as “SNiFF” for Sunday Night Fun & Fellowship) We meet most Sundays throughout the school year from 5 to 6:30 p.m. We do weekly road trips during the Summer, anywhere from San Francisco to Monterey and all random points in between. Our middle school students and advisors enjoy getting together for a variety of adventures like backpacking on local trails, whitewater rafting in the Sierra foothills, visiting the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or simply touring around downtown Los Gatos. Over time, our middle schoolers develop a spirit of camaraderie and trust that plays out over time as they learn to share their faith in words and in action.
High School Youth Group
Meeting Time: We meet most Sundays from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. From discussions on current events, deep dives into the Bible.
Mexico Mission Trip: During President’s Week in February, our students serve with Amor Ministries in Northern Mexico to build homes for families in need of better housing. What students learn on this trip can be translated to expertise and leadership during the larger All-Church Mexico trip in June.
Love of God (L.O.G.) Retreat: High school students lead two “Love of God” (L.O.G.) retreats each year (Fall & Spring) where students share about God’s love in Jesus Christ with their peers. If you’ve got a high school student who’s never been before, get them to this retreat! It’s a lot of fun! Participation in a L.O.G. weekend is also a requirement for participation in our Mexico Mission trip – we believe in taking students away for two days locally before taking them across international borders.
Confirmation: Every other school year, students are invited to join the church as full members through a nine month confirmation journey. Mentors and students gather for conversation and other activities throughout the year to better understand their faith and its role in their lives.
Summer: Whether taking in a San Jose Giants game, climbing to a waterfall in the Sierras, enjoying a late night movie or sailing out on Captain Mango’s catamaran, we seek sabbath and new experiences through the Summer.
Worship: On Sunday mornings, youth who attend worship enjoy sitting together in the balcony. Join us!
