MISSION

We seek to reach out to all people, ministering to their needs and inviting them into an active relationship with Jesus Christ. The PCLG MIssion Committee prayerfully serves the congregation by allocating PCLG mission funds, informing members and friends about missionaries we support, local and global mission opportunities, mission trips, and disaster relief efforts, and providing opportunities for members to serve God both in the local community and globally. The Mission Committee usually meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. To join our ministry or to get more information on our activities, click on the links below or contact Mission elders Martha Wills and Peggy Heath.

  In Our Community

Below are some of the ways our church reaches out to help those in need right here in the San Jose area—by helping to provide housing for refugees and the homeless, collecting food, donating household items, helping to build houses, sorting clothing and more.

Immanuel House

The Presbytery’s refugee house opened in 2015 and has since served more than 80 refugees in transition. Up to 12 men are in residence at one time, assisted by an on-site manager. For more information, visit www.immanuelhousesj.org. Our partners in this ministry are  the International Rescue Committee and Jewish Family  Services of Silicon Valley

Martha’s Kitchen

On a monthly basis Martha’s Kitchen provides

100,000 meals and distributes 175,000 pounds of groceries each month. While San Jose has been their home for over 40 years, they feel called to provide food security to as many communities as they can. Volunteers from PCLG help package and serve hot meals for local residents once a month. Check the Wednesday email or Sunday bulletin for dates and times.

Amor

Since 2001, our PCLG youth, college students, and numerous adult advisors have built numerous homes in Mexico through Amor Ministries. As Christians we are all called to discover new ways to put our faith into action. Our goal at PCLG is to help you on your journey–and for us to do it together. In February, our high school group takes a team, and in June, this mission  project is open to the whole PCLG church community. What a great way to put your faith into action.
